Our Story
The Saint Joseph Society was founded in 1915 by immigrants from Riesi, Sicily, and incorporated in March 1925. More than a century later, it remains an entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Boston's North End. Each year the Society sets the Saint Joseph's Table in March and carries the Feast and Procession down Hanover Street in July. Members deliver Thanksgiving meals to elderly neighbors and veterans, and the Society's hall at 467 Hanover Street hosts community groups year-round. In 2018, the Society gave $1 million to the restoration of Saint Leonard's Church.

The Saint Joseph's Feast
Three days of faith, family, tradition, food, music, and community — July 24-26 on Hanover Street in Boston's North End. The Opening Procession steps off Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM, and the Grand Procession crosses the neighborhood on Sunday from 1:15 to 6 PM, carrying Saint Joseph through streets lined with music, offerings, and neighbors.
